OTRA (translated as OTHER) is another restaurant concept by local restauranteurs Brian Kingsford and Jennifer Matta of BACARO Restaurant in Providence, R.I.

Located at 303 South Main Street, directly behind BACARO, OTRA is a Barcelonian/Iberian – inspired restaurant concept exploring the foods of Spain & Portugal with some Southern French influences.  Items like Tapas which are small bites or bar snacks including Pintxos  (food served on a stick), Montaditos (food served on bread), Bocadillos (small sandwiches) as well larger plates or Platos which are full entrees to be enjoyed in the more traditional style of dining.

The restaurant will be open for business Tuesday through Saturday evenings from 5-10 p.m. and will offer an informal dining experience where you can have tapas at the bar or at tables in its dining room along with a full course dining experience.

OTRA will be committed to traditional flavors prepared with the finest ingredients.

The Bar/Taparia make up a large part of OTRA’s dining room.  While this style of dining is well-suited to this format, OTRA remains food-centric. The bar area is a space to mingle with different groups of friends and family.  Customers can also enjoy dining at one of the many tables in our dining room which offers a more intimate space for conversation amongst clients, friends, and family.

In a time when the kitchen has become the place for friends and family to gather and enjoy food, drink and each other’s company OTRA will extend the kitchen into the Dining Area allowing guests to interact with the chef or simply observe their skills while they prepare the different dishes.
